Contract for CCG Radar Systems and Equipment is Awarded to Felix Technology Inc.

The Government of Canada has awarded a $40.1-million contract under Canada’s Oceans Protection Plan to Felix Technology Inc for 36 new shore-based radars and related software solutions for the Canadian Coast Guard. The contract was announced by the Honourable Anita Anand, Minister of Public Services and Procurement Canada, on Feb. 11, 2020. The event was held at Felix head office in Concord, Ontario and Vaughan Chamber of Commerce with the participation of the Honourable Member of Parliament, Majid Jowhari.
The Oceans Protection Plan is funding 10 of the 11 new radars that will be located on the east and west coasts. New radars will also replace 23 systems that are approaching the end of their life cycle at Coast Guard posts across the country. In addition, two radars will be used for testing and training purposes.

These new shore-based radars and equipment are designed to withstand harsh weather conditions, including heavy winds, ice, and snow at high altitudes.
Felix CEO, Javad Hassani said, “ Felix is happy of being a part of the long-waited Canadian Coast Guard plan to improve and expand its coastal radar surveillance network to overcome maritime challenges along Canadian waterways.” He added, “We are proud to provide Canadian radar solutions to overcome those challenges working with two outstanding partners on this project, TERMA, and Denbridge Marine.”
TERMA is a technology leader with well over 3,000 radar systems installed and operational worldwide including Coastal Surveillance, Port Security, Vessel Traffic Service, and Perimeter & Border Security radar solutions. TERMA is by far the market leader in the field of coastal radar systems.
Denbridge Marine is a global provider of innovative maritime surveillance and port management solutions that provide a tracker platform as a part of this project.
