StackOP opacity meters, detect and measure the amount of light blocked in smoke emitted in large stacks from industrial operations. The smoke meter readout displays the smoke density giving a measure of the efficiency of combustion. This makes the stack opacity meter an excellent diagnostic tool to ensure proper maintenance of industrial process for improved fuel economy and protection of the environment.
The StackOp meter is specifically for dynomometer test cells and stationary testing of stack emissions. The LCD displays opacity in percentage value, and the analog output at the rear of the unit outputs 0-1 VDC that corresponds to a digital readout. This analog output is used to go to a data acquisition system or a chart recorder. It comes complete with a PC interface cable and software set, that allows the user to download stored test results to a PC for archiving or printing. The control unit can be either portable or rackmount depending on the application.
Features
-
100 tests can be stored.
-
Simple, portable with high reliability.
-
High accuracy in both artificial and direct lighting.
-
Sensor styles available for various application.
-
Allows for testing in both a “snap -idle” mode, or “follow mode.
-
Full flow or partial flow sensor heads using same transmitter & receiver.
The partial flow sensor head
Partial flow head is made of light weight anodized aluminum having a straight and curved nozzle for easy placement on various stack systems. The smoke plume is passed through the optics, without the need for a fan. The partial flow head allows for quick and easy placement of the sensor on the stack. By slipping the bayonet style nozzle into the stack the effect of wind during the measurement can be suppressed. The full flow head
Opacity is measured directly across the diameter of flange. Stack Pieces are available in a variety of sizes. Standard stack size for an in-line is 8”. Custom stack pieces are available in any diameter upon request. The standard material is schedule 40 carbon steel. Stainless steel is also available upon request. Connections may be flanged or welded.
